Cozy Dining Atmosphere
Ms. Van Hulle has worked as an executive staff trainer at 3 different locations
while working with Darden a leader in the restaurant field. Working with Darden
gave Abbey the corporate training that has provided her the skills, drive, and motivation
required to manage a successful restaurant. Upon relocating to Pennsylvania, she
started to expand her options and acted as an independent contractor promoting small
and large events working for the well-known Jeffery Miller Catering Group. After
working with the company for several years, Abbey had created and maintained long
lasting relationships with clients that helped expand her vision to become an Event
Director herself at Hotel Fiesole in Skippack Village. Abbey dedicated 10 wonderful
years with this company and decided it was time to make a move. Together with her
husband to be, Cathal Gordon, (Originally from a small village in Ireland not unlike
Coopersburg) they decided they would open up a quaint Café, Clucky Café in Coopersburg,
the Grand opening was in June of 2016 and business has had steady growth ever since.
Abbey and Cathal wanted to bring something new and exciting to the area so they
decided to provide their customers with an American style café with an Gaelic flair.
At Clucky Café they strive to have an array of comfort foods such as Shepard’s Pie
and Fish n Chips to Roasted Duck Breast with a Cointreau Sauce and all the in between
goodies you will learn to love at this new restaurant in the heart of downtown Coopersburg.
Abbey calls the restaurant business a "love-hate relationship" in which "you definitely
have to have grease (passion) in your veins to survive." As a business owner, she
has placed special emphasis on the community around her and is working hand in hand
with the Coopersburg Fire company on creating new idea’s and concepts to bring more
people into their wonderful Borough There is much to see in the near future with
this small, but great new asset to the town. Please stay tuned for any new updates
